NO, it´s not the adaptation of the last Clint Eastwood Movie: this is one of the many novels written by Carter Brown , one of my favorite guilty pleasures in police stories. Your read them like you eat a Mc Donald hamburger: they haven´t got any nutritional value , but they taste great and you eat them in a moment.
